Lighter Than Air
Since 2004, Leigh has been developing a unique unmanned airship to address four of the major concerns in the world today, namely:
- Border surveillance – detection and deterrence of illegal immigration & drug traffic.
- Emergency management in the aftermath of natural d disasters (search and rescue, damage assessment, etc.)
- Homeland security – protection of at-risk infrastructure (ports, strategic waterways, military bases, chemical plants, etc.
- Law enforcement – permanent nighttime patrols over high crime urban areas.

The twin engine craft has an endurance of 24 to 48 hours, a top speed of 55 mph and can carry up to 400 lbs of payload, including electro-optical sensors, searchlights, radio relay, directional acoustic transceivers and others.
The unique design allows for semi-automatic launch & recovery and incorporates multi levels of system redundancy to ensure the reliability necessary to qualify it for operation in commercial airspace over densely populated areas.
